An accused in the singer Sidhu Moose Wala murder case, identified as Sourabh Mahakal, has claimed that Karan Johar was on the radar of Lawrence Bishnoi's gang.

This claim is not yet confirmed by the cops. "Mahakal has claimed that the plan was to extort Rs 5 crore from Karan Johar, but it's possible that Mahakal is just misleading the police," an officer said.

Earlier, the Moose Wala murder accused Sourabh Mahakal had stated that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was behind the threat to bollywood actor Salman Khan. The accused had claimed that these three men were from Rajasthan and worked in a factory in Maharashtra’s Palghar, and had come to Mumbai to give the letter. When the police visited the Palghar factory, they discovered that the men were not workers there.

Furthermore, the police found out that the three men that Mahakal had claimed were behind the threat letter were taken into police custody for looting a jewellery store at Rajasthan’s Sirohi prior to the date of the crime. They continue to be in jail.

Given these declarations, cops have stated that they are not believing any further information provided by the murder accused.

Sourabh Mahakal was taken into custody by the Pune crime branch last week. The Mumbai crime branch had interrogated Mahakal in actor Salman Khan threat case. Mahakal is also one of the accused in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case.
