Imtiaz Ali Birthday special: From ‘Socha Na Tha’ to ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’, some unknown facts about the ‘Rockstar’ director that will amuse you
Do you know which Bollywood director’s birthday today? Well, his name needs no introduction, he has given the wonderful and super hit films to B-town. Any guesses? Well, it’s Imtiaz Ali birthday. He was born on 16th June 1971 in Bihar’s Darbhanga. He has completed his study in Patna and Jamshedpur. Later, he got the admission in Theatre course in Delhi University. After completing his education from DU, he went to Mumbai where he did the diploma in filmmaking.
From where, Imtiaz had started his journey in the television industry by doing the direction of Imtehaan, Naina and Kurukshetra serials. As a film director, he directed his first film named Socha Na tha, starring Abhay Deol and Soha Ali Khan. However, his film didn’t perform well at the Box Office.
Later, he had given the blockbuster film ‘Jab We Met’ in which he picked up the real-life lovebirds of Bollywood i.e. Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor. However, during the last schedule of the film, Bebo and Shahid got separated for some reasons.
The film got the good responses from the fans. Even the Tamil industry also made the remake of the film named Kanden Kadhalai.
After Jab We Met, Imtiaz became so famous that he gained millions of fans. But do you know Imitiaz is the biggest fan of Bollywood legendary actor Dilip Kumar.
After releasing the Jab We Met, the next film of Imtiaz was ‘Rockstar’ in which he had given the warning to his film actress Nargis Fakhri to hide from any public appearance but his wish remained unsuccessful due to the Ranbir and Nargis public appearance.
However, Rockstar had also performed superbly on the Box Office and broke the various records. Imtiaz had given some more superhit films to Bollywood industry which are unforgettable like Love Aaj Kal, Highway, Cocktail. However, his Tamasha and Jab Harry Met Sejal didn’t perform well.
Talking about his personal life, the Rockstar director got married to Priti Ali but due to some disturbances, they got divorced. Later, he falls in love with the Pakistani actress Imam Ali and got break up with her in 2014.
Well, many of you don’t know that Imtiaz Ali has also tried his luck in acting also. He showed his first appearance in Anurag Kashyap’s film ‘Black Friday’ in Yakub Memon role.
