
Mohenjo Daro will mark the return of Hrithik Roshan on the big screen almost two years after Bang Bang. The period drama, directed by Ashutosh Gowariker has been in making since a long time and huge sets for the film were mounted in South Africa and Bhuj in India.
Hrithik Roshan, who is known to do one film at a time, shot for the film which is set in the backdrop of the Indus Valley Civilisation, for over 200 days. While shooting for heavy duty action sequences, the actor injured himself several times which lead to delays in the shoot.

Finally, the shooting of the film is expected to be wrapped up by end of February. The final schedule will commence at a studio in Mumbai where in the team will also film a song. After the shooting wraps up, Ashutosh Gowariker, along with Karen Goulekas, known for films like The Day After Tomorrow and 10,000 BC, will work on the VFX of Mohenjo Daro.

The music and background score of the film has been composed by A R Rahman, whereas the costumes are designed by Emmy Award Winner, April Ferry. The grand action sequences of the film are designed by Glenn Boswell.

Research:
Apart from the 200 days shoot, it took Gowariker over three years to research the history and weave it into a love story. As a part of his research, the director met various archaeologists who were closely involved in documenting the discovery of Indus Valley Civilisation.
The movie, that also stars Pooja Hegde will release on 12 August 2016, as scheduled.
