Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro records decent trend over extended weekend

After a poor start at the Box Office, Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro has managed to record a decent trend in its extended opening weekend as the total four-day collections now stand at Rs 40 crore.

The film has fared the best at Mysore, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. However, it failed to get any support from two major territories - Mumbai and Delhi. The word of mouth of Mohenjo Daro seems to be a little better than the negative comments on social media and the same has reflected in the not-so-bad trend at the ticket window.

Day Wise Collections:

  • Friday: Rs 8.87 crore
  • Saturday: Rs 9.60 crore
  • Sunday: Rs 12.07 crore
  • Monday: Rs 10.25 crore (Estimate)
  • Total: Rs 40.79 crore (Estimate)

It is important for Mohenjo Daro to fare well on the weekdays to merely break even. Unfortunately, given the drop in collections on Independence Day, the same looks unlikely.

The movie has been mounted on a huge budget of Rs 120 crore, inclusive of print and publicity. The hold in collections on Tuesday will give a hint about the lifetime business of the period drama.
