Goodbye Sridevi: From 'Chandani' to 'Judai' a tribute to the 'Nagina' of Bollywood

The legendary Bollywood actress Sridevi is no more with us now. On Sunday early morning the Chandani actress breathes her last in Dubai after a massive cardiac arrest at the age of 54. The actress was attending a family function in Dubai. Husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi were with Sridevi during the time of her demise.

Sridevi was born as Amma Yanger Ayyapan and have worked in several Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films before making her debut in Bollywood films. In late 1960's 'Chandani' girl started her acting career and she was awarded for her tremendous performance in Malayalam film 'Pommbata (1971) for best child artist.

Sridevi's Bollywood career started as a child artist in Julie (1975) and later she became one of the biggest female star actresses of India. In 2003, The government of India awarded her Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honor.

Sridevi was known for her remarkable performance in her films and the most loved onscreen pairing of Sridevi was with her brother-in-law Anil Kapoor. Sridevi's most successful films produced by her husband Boney Kapoor. Sridevi was Boney Kapoor's second wife and the duo has two daughter's Janhvi and Khushi.

Sadma (1983)- The pairing of superstar Kamal Haasan and Sridevi was loved by people and her powerful acting performance revealed her acting talent.

Janbaaz (1986)- A Feroz Khan produced film had a brief role the expression queen. The song 'Har Kisiko Nahi Milta Yaha Pyar' featuring Sridevi was an instant chart-topping hit.

Nagina (1986)- Sridevi as a female snake in a lead role opposite Rishi Kapoor and legendary actor late Amrish Puri in a negative role was a blockbuster hit. The marvelous dance performance of actress to the hit song of the film Main Teri Dushman, Dushman Tu Mera is still remembered by us.

Mr. India(1987)- One of the most successful Bollywood film that brought a turning point in her career. Sridevi as a journalist in the film opposite Anil Kapoor and their sensational chemistry infamous song Kate Nahi Kat Te. In this song, Sridevi wore blue Chiffon Saree and brought a saree trend in Bollywood.

Chandni (1989)- This was Sridevi's first film under Legendary director Yash Chopra's Yashraj Film Production house. The film starring Sridevi opposite Rishi Kapoor and Vinod Khanna was Super hit 80s film. Sridevi gave her heart-winning performance in the film.

ChaalBaaz (1989)- A Pankaj Parashar directorial film is a remark of 1973 film Seeta Aur Geeta, In this film, Sridevi portrays the double role of a twin sisters Anju and Manju. Sridevi shared the screen with Superstar Rajinikanth and Sunny Deol.

Lamhe (1991)- This was her second film under Yash Chopra directorial where she was seen bold enough who love a man of her father age. Lamhe is among those film in which Sridevi shared the screen with Anil Kapoor.

Khuda Gawah(1992)- A film directed by Mukul S. Anand, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sridevi, Nagarjuna, Shilpa Shirodkar in lead roles. This was Sridevi's another superhit in which she was seen in double role of mother and daughter

Army (1996)- In this film Sridevi shared the screen with Bollywood King Khan, directed by Raam Shetty.

Judaai (1997)- In this film, Sridevi chose to be not so good lead, she plays a role of the wife of Anil Kapoor and two children who want to live a luxurious life. The film also caste Urmila Matondkar, Kader Khan, Johnny Lever, Paresh Rawal.

English Vinglish(2012)- After Judai Sridevi took 15 years break and marked her comeback with Gauri Shinde directorial film English Vinglish opposite Adil Hussain. The song Navrai Majhi was loved by the audience very much.

Mom (2017)- Film 'Mom' starring Sridevi as a vigilante along with Akshaye Khanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui under Ravi Udyawar directorial was another come back hit of Sridevi after English Vinglish. Mom was Sridevi's 300th film and a final film appearance of her before her death on 25th February.
