Mumbai Police has filed an FIR against filmmaker Kamal Kishore Mishra for allegedly running his vehicle over his wife’s legs in the parking lot of their residential apartment in Andheri in the wee hours on 19th October.

The incident happened at around 3 am in the parking lot of their apartment building. A video of the episode displays the complainant, identified as Yasmin Mishra, aged 35, trying to talk with her accused husband who tries to speed away in the Mercedes car. The police said Mishra is untraceable.

As maintained in the police complaint, the incident happened after the wife came out looking for her husband and found him with another woman in his car in the parking lot. A video circulating on the internet show her rushing towards the car possibly to confront her husband.

During that time, as witnessed in the video, Yasmin’s legs get stuck under the front wheels and she falls to the ground. The man then runs the car’s front wheels over her wife’s legs.

Seeing this a man rushes to help Yasmin and pulls her out of the car’s way. He waits for his wife to be pulled out of the way and then speeds away from the spot without providing any sort of help.

Mishra drove the car to flee from the scene and in the process hit his wife, reportedly causing injuries to her legs, hand and head, said the official.

On the basis of the complaint, an FIR has been lodged against the filmmaker under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 279 (rash driving) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), at the Amboli police station, he said.

Further investigation into the matter is underway, the official added.
