The prestigious award function Filmfare 2020 that was held in Guwahati, Assam was high on entertainment and glamour where we saw stars walking down the red carpet. The award function is hitting the headlines, not for the good but all wrong reasons. As soon as the award list came out we saw Gully Boy bagging 13 awards and Ananya Panday winning Best Debut Actress for SOTY2 and Pati Patni Aur Woh and since then Twitterati is busy slamming Filmfare for being biased.

The award list hasn't gone down well with the netizens and to raise the issue they started trending #BoycottFilmfare on Twitter. As per the netizens Kesari’s Teri Mitti deserved the black lady instead of Gully Boy’s Apna Time Ayega. Not just this they also stated that Hrithik Roshan’s performance in Super 30, Rani Mukerji’s performance in Mardaani 2 and Kangana Ranaut’s performance in Manikarnika moved the audience and these actors deserve the award for respective sections.

For Best Debut Female netizens believe Pranutan Bahl or Tara Sutaria is more deserving in comparison to Ananya Panday. One of the users wrote, “#TaraSutaria did a good job in a poorly written character in soty2 and she acted brilliantly in #Marjaavaan in a very difficult role of Zoya but @jiteshpillaai (The Dog) gave the award to Annoying Ananya Panday #NepotismRocks so I support #BoycottFilmFare”

Whereas another user wrote, “Not many people would say this but #PriyankaChopra deserved the best actress award this year for the sky is pink #BoycottFilmFare,” “No Award To URI, No Award To KESARI, No Award To CHICHORE, No Award To SUPER30, No Award To TERI MITTI, No Award To @akshaykumar No Award To @iHrithik #BoycottFilmFare.”
