Deepika Padukone has seldom shied away from discussing various matters, however personal they may be. After the release of Happy New Year (2014), Padukone opened up about depression and how she coped with the illness.
Her fight with the illness inspired the actress to set up a non-governmental organisation of her own to help those suffering from depression. The actress is all charged up to officially launch her Live Love Laugh foundation on October 10, which marks World Mental Health Day.

According to NDTV, the actress had invited her mentor Shah Rukh Khan to be a part of the launch. However Khan, who has shared screen space with Deepika Padukone in Om Shanti Om (2007), Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New Year will not be able to attend the launch as he is racing against time to finish shooting for his upcoming entertainer Dilwale. Khan is shooting for Dilwale at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad along with Varun Dhawan, Kajol and Kriti Sanon.
Deepika Padukone had previously said,
"The fight against depression is a cause very close to my heart and is one of the largest health issues facing the country today. Having experienced depression in the recent past, I realise how difficult it is to recognise the problem, find information and get the right kind of professional help. I was fortunate to get the kind of support and through this platform I hope others get the same kind of help".
Here's wishing Deepika the very best for this noble cause.
