Dev Patel's Lion to have a special screening hosted by Maneka Gandhi

Maneka Gandhi is likely to have a show for her fellow ministers including PM Narendra Modi

Lion which has been winning recognition on a massive scale is based on a real life story of Saroo Brierly who lost his way home in India, to be adopted by an Australian family and then 25 years later searched his way back home.From receiving 6 Oscar nominations to getting international recognition, Lion has been growing by popularity.

 Maneka Gandhi is the Union Cabinet Minister for Women and Child Development in the government of PM Narendra Modi. She is also an animal rights activist and is known as an environmentalist. Lion showcases a story that is in resemblance to Maneka Gandhi's recent work she achieved success in. Recently Maneka Gandhi achieved success in tracking down 100 children and she's going to reunite them with their parents next month.

Similarly, Lion has started The #LIONHEART Campaign for helping street children joining hands with India-based NGO Magic Bus, Childline and Railway Children. Hence Maneka Gandhi will be hosting a special screening in Delhi for honourable cabinet minister and dignitaries this week before the India release of the film on 24th February. Maneka Gandhi's invitee list includes our honorable Prime Minster, Narendra Modi.

Confirming the news, Avinaash Jumani, CEO, Pictureworks (the company that the rights of distribution of the film in India), said, "We are glad that a person of such repute, Maneka Gandhi has expressed her desire to host a screening of Lion. It's for a wise cause and thought and currently we are in the process of setting up the screening next week in Delhi".
