Jolly LLB sprung a pleasant surprise upon its release as the Arshad Warsi film won a lot of acclaim from audiences and critics alike for the comical take on judicial system in India.
Following the success of the film, director Subhash Kapoor came up with Jolly LLB 2 that has released across the country and has found fair amount of appreciation from critics. However, not many are aware of the fact that Kapoor had first offered the script of Jolly LLB to Shah Rukh Khan way back in 2012.
The superstar loved the premise and was keen to come on board to play a lawyer on screen would have been a first time experience for him. SRK tried to sort out his dates for the film; however he was tied up with prior commitments back then in the form of Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and Chennai Express.
The actor had to give the film a miss following which Subhash Kapoor offered the script to Arshad Warsi who instantly came on board. The movie was shot within 45 days and Fox Star Studios opted for a platform release.
The strategy paid off and the film went on to emerge a huge success.
