Amitabh Bachchan's Pink is off to a fair start at the Box Office as the film raked in around Rs 4.32 crore on its opening day.
As was quite expected, the film did not attract any viewers at the single screens. The early morning shows across India recorded below par occupancy of merely 10 to 15%. However, business picked up towards the evening and late night shows. The movie got maximum business from high-end multiplexes in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru.
The critics' reviews of Pink are hugely favourable and the initial response from the target audience is promising. The film has the potential to record a big jump in collections on Saturday and Sunday and given the positive response, a steady trend from Monday is likely as well.
The film is reasonably budgeted and will break even for everyone concerned as theatrical collections are close to Rs 35 crore.
