Alia Bhatt to replace Priyanka Chopra in the sequel of Dostana; read details inside

After the grand successful performance in Raazi, the actress Alia Bhatt is all set to make big in 2019 as well. Alia Bhatt has multiple projects this year and it starts with Gully Boy, Kalank, followed by Brahmastra, and then Takht directed by Karan Johar. Now reports suggest that Alia Bhatt has bagged one more big project of Dharma Productions and it is Dostana 2.

Last year there were the reports that producer Karan Johar has said yes to the sequel to 2008 released film Dostana, starring John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra. Talking about Alia's casting, one close source to the project told Mumbai Mirror, "The conversation has begun, and Alia has liked the idea. She will hear the final script and close the formalities soon."

"Casting for her two male co-stars is presently underway after which Karan will make the final announcement. Preproduction on the film has also begun," the source added further.

The director of the franchise, Tarun Mansukhani is busy in the post-production work of his next directorial venture Drive. Drive stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez in the leading roles and the film is slated to release on 28th June 2019.
