After Thuppakki and Kaththi, Akshay Kumar to remake Vijay's Theri in Hindi

Akshay Kumar, who successfully remade Vijay's Thuppakki as Holiday, is soon expected to start shooting for the official remake of Kaththi, titled Ikka.

Now, according to media reports, Akshay Kumar is keen to remake Vijay's recent blockbuster Theri in Bollywood and his team is negotiating with the makers to acquire the Hindi remake rights. A mid-day report states that the Box Office collections of Theri took Akshay by surprise following which he watched the film.

The film's story as well as the idea of a triple role caught Akshay's attention. The leading daily quoted a source,

"Akshay's team is in touch with Theri's makers. He found out about the film after it set new records at the Box Office. The script is interesting and Akshay knows he can fit the lead role with ease. Once the paperwork is finalised, a formal announcement shall be made."

Akshay Kumar's upcoming projects include Housefull 3, Rustom, Namastey England, Ikka, Priyadarshan's next, Tigmanshu Dhulia's next and the Theri remake.
