After being a part of films such as Baby, Brothers and Singh Is Bliing in 2015, Akshay Kumar will open 2016 with the release of Airlift.

The film is inspired by the biggest ever human evacuation that took place in 1990 in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait war.

Akshay Kumar, who plays the person who rescued 1, 70,000 Indians stranded in Kuwait during the war, has already started promoting the film on Twitter. The actor has been uploading meme's from the 90's, rendering people nostalgic about the old golden days.

As the film is slated to release on 22 January 2016, the makers are all set to release the teaser of the hotly-anticipated thriller on Wednesday, 18 November 2015, much to the pleasure of Akshay Kumar fans.

The movie, directed by Raja Krishna Menon, also stars Nimrat Kaur in a pivotal role.
