Director Abhishek Kapoor seems to be spreading his wings in Bollywood. Having directed two successful films, Rock On and Kai Po Che, Abhishek is now gearing up for the release of his film, Fitoor.

The film, which is a loose adaptation of Charles Dickens' novel Great Expectations, stars Tabu, Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapoor.

Fitoor is his second adaptation of a novel. The first being Kai Po Che - a cinematic adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's bestselling novel, 3 Mistakes of My Life.

Abhishek, who recently visited Delhi to promote the film, revealed that he would love to adapt the Mahabharat for the big screen.

"If there is one book which I would love to adapt now is Mahabharat. It is my dream to make a film on that scale with so many complex characters and what better than Mahabharat?"

Many Bollywood directors have expressed their desire to direct the epic. It would be interesting to see if Abhishek manages to accomplish it first.

Fitoor releases on 12 February 2016.
