
Actor Shahid Kapoor, who is playing a rockstar in his upcoming Bollywood film, Udta Punjab, has confirmed the reports that he and his wife, Mira Rajput, were expecting their first child soon.
Speaking at the film's trailer launch, Shahid said, "Yes, I'm going to become a father". He made the remarks after a journalist asked him an indirect question about fatherhood. Shahid chided the journalist and asked him to stop beating around the bush before confirming the pregnancy rumours that have been making the rounds for the last few months.
Shahid also spoke about the Abhishek Chuabey's film, which deals on drug abuse.

"It is an issue that needs to be addressed. For this entire generation, for the parents and the children, it's a real issue. I think it was very courageous on Abhishek's part to dedicate almost three years of his life on something he felt needed to be spoken about," he said.
Udta Punjab also features actors Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Alia Bhatt. The film is set for release on 17 June.
