Ukraine Shocking Video: Journalist narrowly escapes from Russian missile

A horrifying video of a French journalist narrowly escaping a Russian missile strike in Ukraine has been doing the rounds on social media. The video displays the moment the missile hit an ice-skating rink just a few meters behind where the journalist was reporting. The anchor hosting the show was visibly shocked and dumbfounded following the incident.

Posted on Twitter by Anastasia Magazova, the video shows the Journalist, identified as Paul Gasnier reporting for TMC’s Quotidien programme as a missile strikes behind him. Gasnier quickly bobbed down to take cover as the channel host, Yann Barthes, appeared completely appalled.

The video has been viewed more than 450k times and gathered a lot of reactions. As maintained by a report by Metro.uk, the missile struck a hotel and ice rink about 200 meters behind Gasnier. Thankfully, he was unharmed. The incident happened in the Ukrainian-held city of Druzhkivka in Donetsk province.

While the journalist was lucky to escape the attack with just a few meters, not every reporter covering the Ukraine-Russia war was equally lucky. Another French journalist, identified as Leclerc-Imhoff working for the BFM television news channel died because of a missile shrapnel from a military strike. The French President, Emmanuel Macron, tweeted the tragic news back in May, 2022.
