A man from the United Kingdom placed an order for a Macbook Pro from Amazon but didn’t get what he paid for. He was shocked when he found that he had been sent five pounds of dog food instead of the highly priced laptop he ordered.

This is not the first time people have received wrong orders in place of Apple products. A man from India once placed an order for an iPhone from Flipkart but received a detergent bar instead. He was later issued a refund by the e-commerce company.

According to Yahoo, the man, identified as Alan Wood of Derbyshire, UK ordered a MacBook Pro from Amazon for his daughter for 1,200 pounds (Rs 1,20,000) on November 29. However, in a shocking twist, Wood received five pounds of dog food.

The man reported that the package from Amazon had two boxes of Pedigree, consisting of 24 packets of "Mixed Selection in Jelly" flavors."You can imagine the look on my face when I opened dog food instead of a MacBook Pro," said Wood. He further added that Amazon’s support team was not helpful when he reported the incident.

"At first I was confident the mix-up could be resolved, but after speaking to Amazon customer service, they said they couldn't help me. That was unless I returned the laptop, which I never received, and even when I sent the dog food back to the warehouse, that made no difference,” he said.

Wood alleged that he called Amazon many times. He spent over 15 hours on calls to Amazon. Raised the matter to managers and transferred to other departments, but nothing worked in his favour. He said that "but every conversation ended the same way and they refused to listen to me."

"I've been an Amazon customer for two decades and never had a problem with them before. But this has been an extremely stressful situation, especially in my circumstances, and the way I've been treated has put me off ordering from them ever again,” he added. An Amazon spokesperson told the publication that they are in touch with the customer and will issue a full refund.
