Man buys car worth Rs 6 lakh by collecting Rs 10 coins; reason will leave you flabbergasted

A bizarre but inspiring story from Tamil Nadu’s Dharmapuri has gone crazy viral on social media wherein a man purchased a car by giving 60,000 Rs 10 coins.

The man identified as Vetrivel bought a car worth Rs 6 lakh after collecting Rs 10 coins. The reason behind this was that Vetrivel wanted to create awareness of the use of this form of money.


Sharing more details about his hilarious style of purchase, the man told media persons that his mother was running a small shop in his hometown, where people were not accepting Rs 10 coins. Due to this reason, he had a huge collection of Rs 10 coins at home.

He further told that he had seen children playing with Rs 10 coins as if it has no value to them. Therefore, he decided to create awareness, he collected the coins to purchase a car.

Vetrivel also told that the Reserve Bank of India has never said that Rs 10 coins are worthless and can be accepted anywhere. He then questioned why the banks were not accepting them.

After collecting the amount of Rs 6 lakh, he contacted the car dealer who was not willing to accept the money in the form of Rs 10 coins. However, Vetrivel's determination made him accept the money.

Vetrivel took Rs 10 coins in sacks and submitted them to the car dealer. Finally, the car keys were handed over to him.
