Pokemon Go, the mega-hit mobile game, has been in the news for all the strangest reasons; this time, a rare Pokemon character "Vaporeon" became the cause of a stampede in New York's Central Park.

A video shows traffic being brought to a halt near Central Park on Thursday night, as scores of people sprinted towards the park, reportedly in search of a 'Vaporeon' character.

"There's a Vaporeon right there, so everyone's running," one person can be heard saying in the video.

Pokémon Go is an interactive mobile phone game by Nitendo and Niatic that uses augmented reality software to place fictional characters in different geographical locations and let players chase pokemon in the real world using GPS. The players or users must then attempt to catch the characters by physically going to the location.
