Kushal Tandon to return to TV with Jennifer Winget's Beyhadh. Is he still friends with Gauahar Khan?

Kushal Tandon shot to fame with his role in the Star Plus show, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Haiin 2011. After that, he went on to participate in the reality TV show, Bigg Boss 7, where he made news for his relationship with actress Gauhar Khan.

Kushal has been missing in action since Bigg Boss 7. But now, he is all set to rule hearts on TV once again with his upcoming show, Beyhadh on Sony TV.

Jennifer Winget stars as an obsessed lover in the show, which will see Kushal play a pair of twin brothers - his first-ever double role.

"I am thrilled to be a part of 'Beyhadh'. I aim to do good work on television and the concept of the show is very interesting. Also for the first time I will be playing a double role on screen; that of twin brothers. Both the characters are extremely diverse and complex. As an actor, I am excited that I will be able to show my versatility through this show," Kushal told a news agency.

In a recent interview with a leading daily, Kushal opened up about why he stayed away from the big screen for close to two years. He also spoke about his former girlfriend, Gauahar Khan. Here are three interesting statements he made:

On what kept him from doing TV for so long:

I had been working non-stop for four years. So, I took a break for over a year. I wanted to sign some movies, but I wasn't happy with the offers I was receiving. Some of my contemporaries acted in the same movies that were offered to me, and I saw the result. I then decided that I would rather be an A-lister on TV than take up a movie just for the sake of it. I will be back with a cool new show now.

On the films that he had signed:

I had signed two-three movies. But due to creative issues with the producers, they fell through. I am particular about content. I wanted a few changes. I want to be seen in a film that has a good script.

On his breakup with Gauahar Khan:

I believe in looking forward. Everything happens for a reason. Whatever I did, I chose to do it. I don't have any regrets in life. I learn from my mistakes and move on. It is possible (to remain friends with ex), but we (Gauahar) are not friends. I don't want to be friends. I am friends with two of my former girlfriends though.
