Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart is planning to enter a world of video streaming with new some amazing features for its users. The Walmart-owned company will introduce its new facility ahead of the Diwali shopping sale season.

This facility is expected to give the tough competition to its arch-rival Amazon, which has already set a benchmark in the Indian market for its online video streaming service.

As per the reports of Network18, the e-commerce giant will launch a free video streaming facility before Diwali for its ‘Plus’ premium subscribers just like Amazon’s services for its ‘Prime’ users.

How to get the service?

Users who have the subscription of Flipkart Plus will receive facilities like Amazon’s Prime membership, which offers faster shipping and exclusive deals.

Meanwhile, Flipkart is aiming to gain 200 million consumers who are coming on the digital platform. As per the company’s belief, users who are joining the Internet is through online videos. Amid such competition, Flipkart plus is the option for the e-giant to attract online users.

As per the reports of Money Control, Flipkart is testing its new service in beta mode and likely to launch by September.

Customers can become members of the program by collecting 300 ‘super coins’, which can be collected at the rate of 2 for every Rs 100 spent on the shopping website.

Flipkart users can exchange their super coins for other items like food delivery, flight tickets, car rentals, and other online subscriptions.

On the other hand, Amazon’s Prime service currently costs under Rs 999 per year or 129 per month.
