Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus might launch a brand new phone by the end of October, says a report published in GizmoChina. The report suggests that the name of the new smartphone would be OnePlus X and will release by the end of this month in China.

5-inch full HD display & a fingerprint scanner

As per sources, OnePlus X will sport a 5-inch full HD display and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, also seen in OnePlus One. The smartphone release is in line with the company co-founder Carl Pei's statement that OnePlus would launch one flagship this year. The company, with the smartphone, will be entering the mid-ranged smartphone segment with this device.

OnePlus X will witness a fresh design with a dual rear-camera setup, a fingerprint scanner and sharper grills for speakers. Like OnePlus 2, the OnePlus X will sport the identical USB Type-C port.

Price to be below Rs 20,000

As far as the pricing of the device is concerned, it is rumoured to be around $249 in the local region, which roughly comes to Rs 16,500. If launched with this price tag, OnePlus X could be a really promising phone. Xiaomi Mi 4 and Motorola Moto X Play are all set to give some serious competition to this phone.

In an interview to ET, Vikas Agarwal, general manager of OnePlus India had said, "We're introducing a new device by the end of this year. Diwali would be the ideal time, but next quarter for sure. It would be a global launch, but India will be the biggest focus."
