OnePlus 2 launched in India; priced at Rs 24,999

After months of speculations, Chinese handset maker OnePlus is set to unveil the new OnePlus 2 smartphone on 11 August.

Price and specifications

The release is set to be the world's first virtual reality launch event. The phone itself has two variants, the 16GB which weighs in at Rs 22,000 and the 64GB which is available for Rs 24,999. The use of metal in the design gives the phone a slick and premium look as well as feel.

OnePlus 2 comes with an array of gadgets for the user to play with. The full HD 5.5 inch, 1080p IPS LCD, in-cell display runs on Oxygen OS. The dual sim phone runs on a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, currently the fastest processor in the market, coupled with a 4GB LPDDR4 RAM.

The phone comes with its promised finger scanner which can hold up to 5 different finger prints. The 13 megapixel camera has optical image stabilisation with dual LED flash and a 5 megapixel front camera for more high definition selfies.

It comes with a reversible USB type C connector, meaning you don't need to check what side of the connector is up/down when inserting the USB stick. The battery is 10 per cent bigger than the previous model standing at 3,300Ah. It also allows file transfers of up to 10 Gbps and in terms of connectivity it supports 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS.
