After the blockbuster success of Theri, Ilayathalapathy Vijay is ready to shoot for his upcoming film, Vijay 60.

Touted as a romantic-action entertainer, Vijay 60 will be directed by Bharathan, who penned the script for Vijay's 2004 hit film Ghilli. He had earlier directed Vijay in his first dual role in the movie Azhagiya Tamil Magan. Vijay 60 will be produced under the banner of Vijaya Productions.

Veteran Telugu actor Jagapati Babu is portraying the main antagonist role in the film. The actor was also seen in Thalaiva Rajinikanth's film Lingaa. The Pulimurugan villain will be joining the Vijay 60 team on 3 June to shoot his portions in Chennai.

Vijay 60 also stars Satish, Harish Uthaman, and Daniel Balaji. The music for the film will be composed by Santhosh Narayanan while editing will be done by Praveen KL. Sukumar of Myna fame will handle the cinematography. Action director Anal Arasu will choreograph the stunts and Prabhakaran will handle the art direction.

Vijay 60 is slated to release on Diwali 2016. The makers are looking to replicate the success of Vijay's previous Diwali releases - Thuppakki in 2012 and Kaththi in 2014 - which were huge hits at the Box Office.
