Biopics, films made on wars and period dramas are a genre that should not be ignored by any film industry. While Bollywood has made a lot of movies on the following, Punjabi cinema too doesn't want to be left behind and that is the reason why a biopic on Param Vir Chakra recipient Subedar Joginder Singh was announced.
The movie titled on the name of the martyr Subedar Joginder Singh will revolve around the story of the fighter who lost his life while protecting his motherland on on the Line of Control during the Sino-Indo war of 1962. The lead role will be played by famous Punjabi actor-singer Gippy Grewal, who will be seen in a never-seen before avatar.
Recently, the youngest daughter of the martyr, Smt. Kulwant Kaur, congratulated the makers and also wished them good luck. She said, “Subedar Joginder Singh is a dream debut for me. Dream because it will bring someone’s dream into reality. Wait of a daughter who lost her father in the line of duty 55 years ago, will come to an end.”
How endlessly she must have waited for that one glimpse of her father, which she never could see!
