SPYder: Makers of Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 bag the Tamil theatrical rights of Mahesh Babu film

The Tamil theatrical rights of Mahesh Babu - AR Murugadoss' upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual film SPYder have been sold to Lyca productions for a whopping price. Lyca Productions, the makers who bankrolled the upcoming Rajinikanth - Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0, has reportedly acquired the Tamil rights of SPYder for a staggering Rs. 25 crore. The figures are also said to be one of the best deals ever for a Mahesh Babu.

Jointly produced by Reliance Entertainment, NV Prasad and Tagore Madhu, SPYder also marks the Tamil debut of Mahesh Babu and the Telugu debut of Tamil actor SJ Surya as main antagonist. The film stars Rakul Preet Singh in the female lead.

SPYder is slated to release simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu languages on September 27.
