On 11 July, the censor board cleared the Rajinikanth-starrer Kabali for release.

Much to the delight of Thalaiva fans, the gangster drama has been cleared with a clean 'U' certificate from the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC).

Kalaipuli S Thanu, the producer of Kabali, took to his Twitter account to confirm the news. Thanu - who also bankrolled Vijay's successful film, Theri - revealed the runtime of the film. The much-anticipated Rajnikanth film has a runtime of 152 mins (2 hours, 32 minutes).

The Pa Ranjith has created quite the buzz on social media and is hot on trade.

Additionally, the buzz surrounding the film has also been helped by the unique promotional strategy - which included the film's airline partners Air Asia unveiling planes plastered with posters of Kabali for their domestic routes.

The producers have officially confirmed that Kabali will hit the screens across the globe on 22 July.
