Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal is on a record-breaking free. After creating records in Tamil Nadu and USA, the Vijay starrer has now set an all-time record at the Kerala Box Office. Directed by Atlee, Mersal is said to be the 100th film of popular Tamil studio Sri Thenandal Films. The film stars Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha and Nithya Menen in female lead roles.

Catch had earlier reported that Mersal emerged as the fastest Rs. 100 crore grosser in Tamil Nadu in 11-theatrical days.

And now, Mersal with its second Monday's collection, went on to become the top non-Malayalam grosser at the Kerala Box Office. The Tamil superstar film crossed the Rs. 19.75 crore set by the 2015 Tamil film, Shankar-Vikram's I to do so. Mersal is now also the first non-Malayalam film to cross the Rs. 20 crore mark in Kerala as well. The film refuses to slow down despite last week's big Malayalam release, Mohanlal starrer Villain. Also, it has to be noted that Mersal crossed the Rs. 20 crore mark in just 13 theatrical days, which is commendable for a non-Malayalam film.
