India Gaming Conclave, an initiative aimed to be an annual event for the stakeholders to converge and discuss on working towards a legalized and regulated gaming industry in India was launched in New Delhi on March 17. The event was aimed at educating and creating awareness on all aspects of gaming.

AIGF (All India Gaming Federation), an apex body for the gaming industry in India launched its annual IP event, 'India Gaming Conclave' a one-stop platform for all the stakeholders of the gaming industry and promises immense pool of possibilities for the Industry which is still at a nascent stage in India.

It is an effort taken by the federation to bring together various dignitaries including Law Commission Chairman, Justice Balbir Singh Chauhan, Member of Parliament KTS Tulsi and Om Prakash Yadav, Director Ministry of Electronics and IT.

The event also saw the launch of Gaming 360 which is AIGF's, one-stop portal for gaming related news and activities across India and around the globe. The event included an interesting workshop to create a roadmap on legal, business and regulatory elements for gaming operations in India, which was moderated by Nishith Desai Associates.

This was followed by sessions on GST and its implications on gaming industry, FDI and issues faced by international investors by Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan and insights on Policy making and regulation by LawNK.

Recent developments and trends in online gaming platforms have created new possibilities for cybercriminals to swindle huge amounts of money from an industry that is worth nearly $100 billion.

And what's worrisome is the players themselves are becoming victims of this new form of crime. The event also touched upon this very issue and held a special panel discussion on International best practices in cyber security and player protection and law enforcement by PMU and GLI.

Talking to media, Justice Chouhan, Law Commission chairman said, "I congratulate AIGF for conceptualizing a brilliant platform to witness effective dialogues between operators and stakeholders on the current issues in the industry and to bring together various influencers & law makers to initiate legalization and regulation in Gaming Industry."

Roland Landers, CEO AIGF was quoted saying, "IGC is our effort to bring industry together and provide it with a platform where the stakeholders can make their voices heard. We appreciate the presence of such dignitaries at the inaugural event and are hopeful that in the coming years it will witness more such powerful presence to help us make a difference."
