Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee has launched a scathing attack at BJP over its latest pro-Hindu slogan coined to instigate West Bengal ruling government leaders. Banerjee, nephew of West Bengal CM Mamata claimed that the TRPs of BJP’s "Jai Shri Ram" slogan has gone down, that has forced BJP to move on the new slogan ‘Jai Maha Kali.’
The comment comes ahead of high voltage war of words between the two rival parties with saffron party heckling of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee using the religious slogans.
"They (BJP) have decided to change the slogan from Jai Shri Ram to Jai Maha Kali as the TRP of Ram is on a downward slide. They are mixing religion with politics," Abhishek, who is also the nephew of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, was quoted by news agency PTI as saying.
"People told me that Dilip Ghosh has asked to raise slogans of Jai Ma Kaali along with Jai Sri Ram. I told them, Mamata Banerjee was there so that is why suddenly Ram's TRP has gone down and Ma Kaali's TRP is going up,” TMC MP from Diamond Harbour said.
