In the midst of General Election, the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi has spoken for the first time and has taken a dig at the ruling dispensation without naming the party and said that ‘today were being taught the definition of patriotism.’
While mentioning about rights and constitutionally guaranteed freedoms, Sonia Gandhi expressed her concern over the growing regressiveness across the country and added that citizens need to protect their rights.
“Regressive forces have systematically dismantled our institutions. The current government has undermined the welfare architecture that was laid down over the last 65 years. We need to reclaim our constitutionally guaranteed freedoms and rights and secure the life of dignity and security for our people,” said former Congress president.
