Opposition parties on 25 April, criticised Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal\'s demand to make Operation Blue Star files public. The Congress dubbed it as a political move while the Janata Dal (United) said that it would give rise to a new kind of \'terrorism and hatred\'. Badal had demanded that files related to the attack on the Sri Darbar Sahib during Operation Blue Star be made public. The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader made this demand during a programme at Buladhewala and Burj Mehma villages."Opening of files related to Operation Blue Star will give birth to a new kind of terrorism and hatred. The nation has already faced these things a lot," JD (U) leader KC Tyagi said."This is one hundred percent a political demand. When they could not think of anything they have resorted to this. Akali Dal wants to fight the elections on lines of religion," Congress leader Ambika Soni said.
