At an electoral rally in Kanpur, PM Narendra Modi has cited the recent incident of Lucknow where Kashmiri traders were beaten up and he has said, “It is crucial to maintain an atmosphere of unity.”

An attack on Kashmiri traders took place in Lucknow by fringe group and the video brought much backlash, although the police had registered the case against the accused involved and have arrested one until now.

PM Narendra Modi said in Kanpur, “Desh mein ekta ka vatavaran banaye rakhna bahut ahem hai. Lucknow mein kuch sirphire logo ne hamare Kashmiri bhaiyon ke sath jo harkatein ki thi uss par UP sarkar ne turanth karwayi ki.”

Home Minister Rajnath Singh also mentioned about the grave concern on attack on the Kashmiri, and while speaking in Beawar, “Want to convey a message to entire country, heard of a few incidents against Kashmiri children. Kashmiris are, were and will remain our ppl. Have requested Chief Ministers of all states that Kashmiri students must be protected and loved.”

Attacking the Opposition and reiterating the army’s valour, PM Modi said, “ Unfortunately, attempts are being made to downplay our Army's valour. Can we forgive those who give statements which please Pakistan? Whole world is putting pressure on Pakistan but statements from some ppl in country are helping Pakistan.”
