Rajasthan BJP vice-president Gyan Dev Ahuja has given the controversial statement against Congress President Rahul Gandhi by comparing Congress Chief with Mughal emperor on Thursday.

Ahuja compared Gandhi with Aurangzeb and said that his party, the Congress empire is coming to an end.

He further added that the Congress president is the last emperor of the Congress sultanate, just like Aurangzeb. ‘The end of the Congress is certain,’ Ahuja told reporters.

However, Aurangzeb was not the last of his dynasty as he died in 1707 and the last ruler of Mughal emperor was Bahadur Shah II as he died in 1862. But Aurangzeb is often seen as the last of the prominent Mughal kings as the empire began disintegrating after him.

Ahuja also questioned that Rahul Gandhi claimed that he is also a janeu dhari (a Hindu who wears the sacred thread), saying his party should name the priest who conducted the ceremony for it.

Earlier, Ahuja had also erupted the controversy by calling cow smugglers as terrorists.

He also claimed that Bhartiya Janata Party will the by-election for the Ramgarh assembly seats. However, in Ramgarh, the polling was called off due to the death of the Bahujan Samaj Party candidates Laxman Singh.

While, in the state assembly election, Congress has won 99 seats of the remaining 199 Rajasthan assembly seats.

Meanwhile, the bypoll for Ramgarh will be held on January 28.
