Schools students will not allow saying ‘present sir’ and ‘yes sir’ from 1st January 2019. As they will have to answer their roll calls with ‘Jai Hind’ or ‘Jai Bharat’ in Gujarat schools.

As per the notification issued by the Directorate of Primary Education and Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB), that said to foster the patriotism among the students.

The notification circulated on Monday and asked the schools that the students of class 1-12 either in government, self-financed and grant-in-aid schools will have to answer to the attendance calls with ‘Jai Hind’ or ‘Jai Bharat’ from 1st January 2019.

The aim of this decision is to ‘foster patriotism among students right from childhood,’ notification reads.

According to the notification, the decision was taken by the state Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama in a review meeting held Monday.

The copies of the notification have been sent to the district education officials with instructions that will be implemented from 1st January 2019.
