Maharashtra, Haryana Election Results 2019

Counting of votes for the 288-member Maharashtra and 90-member Haryana assemblies which went to polls on October 21 will be starting at 8 am today.

While Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is looking to retain power in both the states, Congress is looking to reverse its fortunes after a dismal show in the Lok Sabha Elections.

Earlier, a bunch of exit polls had projected huge win for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led alliance in Maharashtra and Haryana, the very first election since Prime Minister Narendra Modi's landslide victory in May 2019.

In Maharashtra, various exit polls (except India Today-Axis My India) predicted over 200 seats for BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in the 288-member assembly. India Today-Axis My India poll predicted the ruling alliance in Maharashtra getting between 166 and 194 seats.

Similarly, BJP is likely to retain power in Haryana. The saffron party will safely cross the halfway mark on its own, predict the polls.

It predicted 71 seats for ruling BJP and 11 for Congress.
