Karunanidhi Funeral: Madra HC is yet to decide about Kalaignar burial at Chennai’s Marina Beach

After a death of DMK leader M Karunanidhi, the other controversy has been raised that where his dead body will be buried. However, the petition is still going on in Madras High Court. However, the hearing has resumed at 8 am and the discussion is still on whether Karunanidhi’s body will be buried at Chennai’s Marina Beach, alongside other political stalwarts.

Earlier, Tamil Nadu government had rejected the request to buried DMK leader at the Marina beach on Tuesday. After which the sharp criticism has been made against the government decision. As per the DMK, ‘ the AIADMK’s refusal to give a six-feet land to bury the state’s five-time CM next to his mentor CN Annadurai’s grave is a "reeks of pettiness and political vendetta".


Till now, several counters of arguments have been made in the Madras High Court from DMK's lawyer as well as government lawyer's side.

However, tight security has been deployed at the Anna Memorial at Marina beach.
