Karnataka: Smoke arises from Jet Airways plane from Bangalore to Mangalore before take off; passengers safe

A Jet Airways plane, which was set to take off from the Banglore airport to Manglore had caused a delay due to smoke arising from the plane, in an inadvertent condition.

The incident occurred today evening and all the passengers are safe as all of them were immediately moved to different aircraft.


The said aircraft, from which the smoke had risen, was grounded at the airport for the repair work.

News agency ANI tweeted saying, “Karnataka: Reports of smoke in Jet Airways ATR plane from Bangalore to Mangalore before take off. Passengers were moved to a different aircraft. Aircraft was grounded at the airport for repair work.”

Jet Airways has issued a statement saying, "Our flight 9W 713 from Bangalore to Mangalore was delayed due to technical snag, while parked at bay, prior to departure. An alternate aircraft was immediately arranged and the flight departed with 71 guests. We regret the inconvenience caused to our guests."
