J&K: Third terrorist killed in encounter after Pulwama attack mastermind Kamran; head constable martyred

After Jaish-e-Mohammad operative and Pulwama terror attack, mastermind Kamran and one other was gunned down in an encounter in Pinglan, the third terrorist has been killed, reported news agency ANI. In the gunfight Head constable has also been martyred.

One more terrorist has been killed in the encounter with security forces. One more security personnel has also lost his life. All three killed terrorists belonged to the Jaish-e-Mohammad. Arms & ammunition recovered from the site of encounter.


According to media reprots, another top Jaish terrorist killed in the 12-hour encounter was Hilal Ahmed, a local bomb specialist. A third terrorist was also shot dead; the police are trying to identify him.

Earlier in the day, four Army personnel were martyred and two terrorists were killed in the encounter in Pulwama district. Jammu and Kashmir Police said in a statement that identities and affiliations of terrorists killed are being ascertained.

Mastermind of Pulwama attack Ghazi Rasheed alias Kamran was killed in a gunfight between security forced and terrorists were carried out for over 12 hours in a response to February 14 Pulwama attack in which over 40 soldiers were killed. Kamran was a close aide of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Maulana Masood Azhar.
