J&K Encounter: Pulwama terror attack mastermind Kamran killed in 12-hour encounter

Two terrorists, including the mastermind of Pulwama attack, have been killed during an encounter between terrorists and security forces, in Pinglana area of Pulwama district, reported news agency ANI. The operation is still in progress. Among two terrorists, Abdul Rashid Ghazi alias Kamran, a Jaish-e-Mohammed operative has been gunned down by security forces.

According to media reports, the house in which two terrorists, including Jaish-e-Mohammed operative and Masood Azhar aide Rashid were holed up was blasted by security forces. As per reports, Ghazi Rashi alias Kamran is believed to be the mastermind behind the Pulwama suicide bombing.


One AK-47 & one pistol recovered from Pinglana where terrorist were killed. According to ANI, identification of bodies of the two terrorists killed during an encounter, yet to be confirmed.

Police in Pulwama have appealed to locals to leave the site of Pulwama encounter. Four 55 Rashtriya Rifles personnel have lost their lives & one injured and two terrorists neutralised in the ongoing operation.

According to media reports, a joint team of Indian Army's 55 Rashtriya Rifles, CRPF and Special Operation Group launched a cordon in the wee hours on Monday.
 
On Thursday, Pakistan backed- Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) attacked the long 78- vehicle convoy on Jammu-Srinagar highway with a suicide car bomber driven by 22-year-old terrorist Adil Ahmad Dar. The SUV is full of over 350 kg explosive and detonated 60 kg of RDX.
