Come March 2016 and the Ministry of External Affairs will organise a conclave called Raisina Dialogue on the lines of the annual Shangri-La Dialogue held in Singapore to discuss issues relating to the Asia-Pacific region, reports The Economic Times. This will be India's flagship conference of geopolitics and geo-economics, in line with its rising profile in the world.

The Raisina Dialogue will focus on strategic issues and connectivity in the AsiaPacific region, and will be organised by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Observer Research Foundation, a think tank based in Delhi. Ministers, senior officials, experts and academicians have been invited for the inaugural edition of the Raisina Dialogue.

"It is designed to explore prospects and opportunities for Asian integration as well as Asia's integration with the larger world," said a government note. "It is predicated on India's vital role in the Indian Ocean Region and how India along with its partners can build a stable regional and world order."

The MEA will also organise the Gateway of India Dialogue together with Gateway House, a think tank based in Mumbai, to focus on economic diplomacy.

Elsewhere, India hopes to send senior ministers to all key foreign policy and strategic affairs dialogues around the world to make the country's presence felt at a global level.
