Delhi Riots: NSA Ajit Doval visits violence hit-areas; death toll rises to 17

Doval and Patnaik had a meeting with DCP North-East on the current situation in the area and also how to restore the situation. The two top officers reached the violence-hit area after three consecutive days of violence in the capital.

Taking strict action against the protesters, a shoot-at-sight order was announced in the Yamuna Vihar area.

At least 17 people have been killed in the violent protest in Delhi, according to GTB Hospital authorities.

The clash erupted on Monday in the various parts of North East Delhi which includes Chand Bagh, Bhajanpura, Maujpur-Babarpur, and Jaffrabad.

Reportedly, the main centre of clashes between two groups- one who is supporting the citizenship law and another protesting against its amendments, were Jafabad, Maujpur, and Baburpur

Due to the ongoing protest, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) also postponed the board exams for Class 10 and Class 12 which was scheduled on 26 February in violence-affected areas of Delhi.

Board released a list of 86 schools in North East Delhi where CBSE Board exam of class 10th, 12th were supposed to be conducted.
