Delhi reports season's first case of dengue death

The national capital today reported the season's first death due to dengue, with an 18-year-old succumbing to the mosquito-borne disease.

The deceased was identified as Farheen, a resident of Jafrabad locality of north east Delhi.

According to an NDTV report, the deceased breathed her last at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash hospital (LNJP) where she was undergoing treatment since a day before her death.

According to the report, the deceased's father said Farheen was admitted to Delhi's Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital after she displayed dengue-like symptoms.

The father complained that the deceased was just given an injection and left unattended later, due to which her condition deteriorated.

She was then shifted to the LNJP on 20 July where she died the next morning. Delhi till now has witnessed a total of 90 dengue cases.
