Complaint filed against DCW chief Swati Maliwal for allegedly misusing her position

Former Delhi chief secretary Omesh Saigal has lodged a complaint with Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) seeking an enquiry into the alleged "misuse of official position" by Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal.

A senior ACB officer confirmed the complaint by Saigal adding that it was being looked into.

Earlier, Saigal had written a letter to Delhi's Lt Governor Najeeb Jung alleging that Maliwal used her official position while issuing a showcause notice to a private club of which he is a member.

In July, a woman member of the club had alleged that Saigal harassed her by frequently bumping into her while swimming in the pool of the club. She had also alleged that she and her husband were suspended from the club after her police complaint against him.

The woman had approached DCW which had issued a notice to Panchshila Club seeking to know why the club did not forward the woman's complaint to the local complaints committee and also why the complainant and her husband were suspended.
