Atal Bihari Vajpayee health remains critical; Vice-President visits to meet former PM at AIIMS

The health condition of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee remains critical on Thursday morning. As per the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), he is on life support system.

"Unfortunately, his condition has worsened over the last 24 hours. His condition is critical and he is on a life-support system," the AIIMS said in the statement.


After Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu reached AIIMS to meet the former Prime Minister of India on 16th August morning.

 

Meanwhile, PM Modi reached Delhi’s AIIMS on 15th August at around 7:15 pm and spent around 50 minutes there. After PM Modi, the Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi also paid a visit.

Also, several leaders and ministers including Suresh Prabhu, Jitendra Singh, Harsh Vardhan and Shahnawaz Hussain also visited to meet 93-year-old. While in the evening, Union Textiles Minister Smriti Irani had visited the hospital to check on Vajpayee.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP President Amit Shah also went to meet the former PM to know about his health condition. Shah visited AIIMS around 6.30 pm and Singh reached there around 8.15 pm to inquire about Vajpayee's health condition, a source at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) said.
