After Shah Rukh Khan expressed his views on the sensitive topic of growing intolerance in India, the second Khan too has finally spoken about the issue. At the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards, on being asked to speak about intolerance, the actor who is currently shooting for his upcoming film Dangal said,

"As an individual, as part of this country as a citizen, we read in the papers what is happening, we see it on the news and certainly, I have been alarmed. I can't deny. I have been alarmed by a number of incidents."

The actor further revealed that his wife, Kiran Rao is scared to stay in India as she fears the future of their child, Azad.

"When I chat with Kiran at home, she says 'Should we move out of India?' That's a disastrous and big statement for Kiran to make. She fears for her child. She fears about what the atmosphere around us will be. She feels scared to open the newspapers every day. That does indicate that there is this sense of growing disquiet, there is growing despondency apart from alarm. You feel why this is happening, you feel low. That sense does exist in me," said Khan.

The actor also spoke about the mind set of people in India who often mistake the people indulged in the act of violence as Islamic or Hindu terrorist.

"When you see a person committing violence, the first mistake we make is labeling them Islamic terrorist/Hindu terrorist."

During Prem Ratan Dhan Payo promotions, when Salman Khan was asked to speak about intolerance in India, the actor without getting much into the details said, "I can only say that my mother is Susheela Charak and my father is Salim Khan."
