Will Amar Singh rejoin the Samajwadi Party? The mystery continues

While political parties are busy preparing for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections - scheduled to be held in 2017 - it appears as though the Samajwadi Party is willing to maintain the suspense on the issue of its expelled leader Amar Singh rejoining the party.

According to PTI, when SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav was asked about whether Singh would rejoin the party, he said, "Is prashn ka koi auchitya nahi hai" (This question has no justification).

Mulayam made the comments during a function where former Union minister Beni Prasad Verma rejoined the SP after leaving Congress.

Party leader Azam Khan, Singh's bete noire said, "Aisey shabd nahi bolte" (Never utter such words)."

Speculation is rife that Singh might also rejoin the SP. He has been spotted in SP functions and is also said to make frequent visits to residences of Mulayam and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
