Ted Cruz, the Lord of Awkward Scenes, has finally dropped out of the race to become the next President of the United States of America.
But in keeping with his cringeworthy campaign so far, his announcement to drop out too, was an absolute trainwreck.
Amid loud protests and discouraged "noooooooos" from his ardent followers, Ted Cruz announced the end of his campaign and turned to hug his father, Rafael Cruz .
Only, he did not succeed in doing so, he first punched his wife Heidi's nose and then elbowed her in the face while the TV news channels were streaming live. Ouch. Why Cruz? Why?
Trying to salvage the situation as best as he could, Cruz turned the moment into a group hug. But by then the internet had already turned his goofup into an immortal GIF. There, there Cruz. At least you're out of the picture now.
Now @TedCruz took a knocking during his pres. run + so did his wife Heidi's face. Hope she's okay. #CNElection #MAGA https://t.co/OmHz59AZG7
