From long we all celebrate 1st April as fool's day. We all plans to do a prank with your friends and families without fearing of any guilt. April fool's day is celebrated worldwide and people wait a whole year to relive the funny moment with friends. However, hardly anyone knew about the real reason behind why April Fool's Day is celebrated on 1st April every year and not on any other day or date.

So here, we have complete origin and history of the April Fool's Day.

April Fool's Day was first celebrated in Europe and in no time it reaches out to the western world. According to the historians, Pope Gregory XIII ruled the new calendar to start from January 1 back in 1582, instead of the hitherto celebrations of the New Year at the end of March, making it the most popular belief of the roots of April Fools’ Day.

So, People who didn't follow the new calendar of Pope Gregory XIII, and continued to celebrate the New Year during the last week of March through April 1 were at the receiving end of jokes and pranks, a tradition that has continued.

According to reports, there were other countries in Europe who refused to accept the calendar and continued with the Julian calendar. As a result, those who accepted the new calendar considered others to be fools because they refused to change.

In a similar way, people in India have their different point and thoughts (sarcastically) on celebrating. In a joking way, Indian says, 1st April is celebrated as Fool's Day because 31st March is closing of the financial year. So people have to clear all their Tax or due amount till 31st. And they believe by paying all the amount they have become 'Fool' hence on 1st April they celebrate Fool Day.

Though, there is no confirmation, why 1st April is celebrated as Fool's day, the day which celebrates pranks and jokes. As we all enjoy it, it celebrates it.
